Paris Travelog

Arrival at CDG Paris ~ Settled down in the apartment ~ Babies’ resting time after the long flight ~ Changing time ~ Notre Dame *snap snap* ~ Café for coffee, hot chocolate with choc and banana crepes ~ Back to apartment to rest and had Maggi noodles for dinner

Wakey-wakey ~ Feeding and changing time ~ Musee du Louvre ~ Jardin de Tuileries ~ Took a ride on the Carrousel, Baby Chloe enjoyed it and didn't want to get off but on the contrary, Baby Elsie didn’t like it and cried on the entire ride ~ Walked to Goyard boutique along St Honore but it was closed, we will pop by again ~ Took le Metro to George V and took photos of the Arc Du Triomphe (Baby Chloe was sleeeping) ~ Walked down Champ Elysees to the Disney shop to buy the tickets for Disneyland a Paris.

Wakey-wakey ~ Feeding and changing time ~ Disneyland at Paris “Here we come!” ~ Took the train RER A and voila! Reached at 12noon ~ First stop, rented strollers, second stop, a hotdog resto for lunch. The strollers were kinda like white elephants as the gals didn’t wanna sit on it during our time there ~ Being in the open was not cool as it was kinda cold for them, sitting in the stroller without blanket to cover them is also cold so either way they don’t enjoy it ~ Plus the girls wanted to sleep so were pretty cranky, we carried and coaxed them as we walked aroud ~ At times they wanna walk walk but they will walk around the same spot and not wanting to leave that spot, they are tired, I gather ~ Continued to stroll along with the kiddos to Pinocchio land and the place where they can ride the carrousel, same thing, Chloe took the ride with “tu-tu” and Papa while Elsie and my SIL were standing beside the Carrousel as the Carrousel spin us right round baby right round...... haha... ~  Saw Snow White the seven dwarfs strolling around, followed them throughout till they came to a stop so that the crowd can finally take photos with and obtain autographs from them ~ It was an achievement to be able to bump into one of the Disney characters and take photos for remembrance ~ Went to find a place to rest before the final show along the Main Street which started at 5pm ~ After that, we left the place and headed back to our apartment to rest.

Wakey-wakey ~ Feeding time ~ The babies tried frosted flakes and surprisingly, they liked it and kept rumbling on “mum-mum” for more ~Today we decided to change the plan a bit, allowed the babies to stay in for the morning with Papa quand my SIL et moi went shopping for wallet/bag at Goyard, did some shopping for family/friends and bought fast food for lunch ~ By the way, we bypassed Musee Du Louvre on our way and  took photos to remember this day trip on our own ~Went home to check on the babies and realised that they were sleeping ~ As the bottles of mineral water were depleting ~ I grabbed a Mac burger and walked to the nearby supermarket ,Carrefour, to buy the mineral water and groceries ~ It was fun shopping there and I bought quite a fair bit of things which was not on the initial shopping list..hehe.. ~ Went back to the apartment and the girls were up and so we got ready to move out ~ Changing time ~ Went to Cites Des Science and hang around this open patch of grass nearby, my SIL and bro captured really cool pics of the girls playing and shot nice videos of the kiddos having fun with Papa and took some nice family photos ~ After that we went back to the indoor cafeteria for some waffles and the kiddos dinner ~ The dinner was prepared by Papa, porridge with carrots and broccoli~yummy! ~ Next stop, Chatelet, an underground shopping mall ~ Came across a nice kiddo toy shop where the kiddos refused to leave but we just carry the wailing babies out of the shop ~ Took le metro and headed home to rest ~ The arragement on this day was pretty good as the kiddos managed to rest in the morning and were less cranky for the rest of the day.

Wakey-wakey ~ Feeding and changing time ~ Made sandwiches for myself, bro and SIL, the way I always liked my breakfast to be but in Singapore, time is a constraint every morning ~ Hence, such breakfast is impossible! *好无奈啊* see...

Took the train to Jardin d’Acclimation ~ Lotsa stalls to play games and earn tickets to redeem stuffs ~ We played while the kiddos watch as it is way beyond their age ~ Played the Carrousel, Chloe was interested in other rides too but she is too young so we will direct her away from those rides but she will still automatically walk back there and after too many of “replays” we had to really bring her away and you will once again get a wailing baby ~ Went to a shop to check out the toys and they didn’t want to leave again ~ Anyways, I bought this soapy bubble to tempt them out of the shop which worked ~ I think I probably looked silly running around with the bubbles but it was really fun, I felt as if I was back to a little kid (when I was young, never get to play this cos my parents said they have no money but they can make those toys for us easily since it was only soap water) ~ We continued to walk along, went to take a look at birds, peacocks, turkeys, ducks, cows and goats and then to an outdoor café to feed the babies, Chloe was sleeping so only Elsie had her milk ~ Walked in the direction of the exit and went to another café to feed Chloe her milk as she woke up ~ Next stop for the day, the factory outlets at La Vallee where you can do some factory outlet shopping, our main aim was to check out the Longchamp and Agnes B shops, the latter was kinda disappointing but Longchamp was pretty good, stayed there for quite a while to choose the bags ~ Took the train home to rest thereafter.

Wakey-wakey ~ Feeding time ~ I headed out for a nice breakfast at a cafe near the shopping area ~ I planned to buy books at the bookstores and a longchamp bag for my friends ~ As the day was SIL’s birthday, I went to grab a cake ~ Wanted to get a small cake but they had either small slices of cakes or a large cake, settled for the latter which cost S$100, candles cost S$1 each ~ Headed back to the apartment  to drop off the stuffs I bought ~ Changing time ~ Went to the Eiffel Tower, it was too cold for the kiddos to be outside at the highest point of the Tower  so they took some photos and went indoors ~ I stayed outside and took more photos ~ The other time I came, the view was blocked by the fog but this time I've got a clear view so took alot more photos ~ Time for the girls moo-moo time, so we fed them their milk ~ Headed to Champ Elysees to check out the Agnes B shop and buy bottles for the girls at the Disney shop ~ Went back to Saint Michel area to have our dinner and we chose to have our dinner at a Resto ~ Our first meal at a Resto and I had to try my French onion soup gratinee (disappointed again) ~ We walked around the arty area and went back to hotel to cut cake for my SIL, take photos, settled the girls for the night before we pack our luggage for our flight home the next day.

Wakey-wakey~Feeding and changing time~ Checked out and boarded the cab to the airport ~ On the return flight, the gals clung on to Papa and Mama and didn’t wanna look for me so I watched my movie and tease them on and off.

Did I mention that from the flight to Paris and during our stay a Paris, the girls wanted Mummy only and so my bro and I were kinda redundant at times. But as Mummy only had two hands, how is it possible to carry two? So at times we will take over and wailing will start. Elsie is one tough cookie as she is very insistent. Chloe will cry too but she gets over it after some coaxing and explanation. Different characters, I guess. Anyways, during our stay in Paris, for a reason I couldn't explain, Chloe was clingy to me and calls "tu-tu" so very often which sweetens my heart but at the same time, it makes Papa abit sad and moi paiseh too. It's supposed to be gu-gu and not tu tu, am sure they will be able to pronounce it right.

Did I mention...
.... changing clothes for the girls was like fighting a war! Tough cookie Elsie tried that every time. Chloe got over the fact we just have to wear our  thick clothing before heading out.
.... Chloe loves to say "Hi" to peeps she sees along the way, in le Metro, in the elevator up and down the Eiffel Tower, anywhere.
... Elsie is a pretty face to look at and she will make cheeky and sweet expressions, depending on her mood.

Kids are cute and certainly a joy to have around. But kids will be kids and they will have their "naughty" moments which Parents will need to manage, hence parenting comes into play. Not an easy process for many first time parents, I feel.

Well, it’s good that they are close to Papa again on our return flight, I should take a back seat anyways and so I did. Landed on Singapore soil and my entire family came to pick us up, the grandparents were so happy to see their grandchildren! Heehee..

I have been conscious to take a backseat and not to intrude into other peeps' life partly cos dar dar always remind me not to cross the line. It really wasn't easy for someone like me to be conscious of this dangerous imaginary line (be it with friends or family) but I try. It's very tiring, you know.. *sigh* But I can fully appreciate that nowadays peeps are all working (long working hours for some) so they need their own personal time to do whatever they value most. Therefore, it only makes sense that they will think of friends and others when they are free.. :)..

Though I had a long flight with a meagre 2 hours rest on the flight, I had a long day ahead of me still, French lesson, visit my in-laws, Jam Hsiao’s concert followed by meet-up with friends for drinks at Kallang Mac then home to rest.. haha..

Overall, the experience from the trip was cool! Now back to the usual mundane life of work, exercise, entertainment, hang out with friends and sleep. In the midst of all this, I have to be wary of the dangerous imaginary line (a life lesson to master). Didn't know human relationships can be so complicated, I would have liked things to be much simpler, really. If I can't have things simpler, I'd rather be on my own.
