A lazy weekend

The weather was so hot and humid that we were hoping that there was a pool nearby which we could jump right in for a swim/body-dip! We considered my friend's condo but gave up that idea cos we were in a lazy mode somehow.

So in the end, we decided to pop by our fav TCC @ Boat Quay to rest and relaz since we were around the area. We've been there a few times and we liked the place lots cos of its cool and cosy environment.

We found a nice & cool spot within the place, at the 2nd level and lazed on the available bean bags. We slowly ordered our drinks, starters and our fav seafood Aglio Olio since it's like 4plus and dinner wun be too far away from then.

His promegranate orange dunno wat, my lychee jazz.. both tastes good..

Cheesy Prawn toast..

Seafood Aglio Olio
(We feel that the portion is smaller and more pricey than before though my other frens think otherwise. Hmm, maybe next time will ask their management to confirm our suspicion.. haha.. )

Look at the cosy environment! The lights u see are just the spot lights shining on the paintings not the sun! It's really the perfect place to spend a lazy afternoon away from the hot and humid outdoors..

The finale for the meal! We ordered this Devil-misu to try as the waitress recommended it to us. The taste was very full and stronger then the normal Tiramisu but it's good. Those who like Tiramisu should try this!

So we spent hours sitting there till the sun goes down, chit-chatting while we slowly enjoy our drinks before the time is just nice for us to go home to watch the qualifying rounds for Formula 1.

Dinner @ Xing Wang

Every Sunday, my bro and SIL, together with the princesses will go over to my bro's MIL's place to hang around till night. Dar dar and I will always go exercise followed by giving Rio junior a bath on Sunday mornings and settling other household chores after brunch. Thereafter, we will stay home till our hps ring or if we really need to run some errands or are dying of boredom (but we can usually live with Mr. Boredom cos we can't stand going out aimlessly, we will die!).

But this Sunday, my bro and SIL stayed home cos his MIL/her mum had something on. As dar dar and I had no plans for the day, all of us spent a nice, lazy Sunday at home.

Towards the end of the day, dar dar and I decided to go klkk at Hougang Point NTUC (our favourite past-time for a walk after heavy meals or watever). As we were walking around NTUC, we decided to go out for dinner later instead of having maggie noodles. So we asked my bro and SIL if they feel like going out for dinner later. They were also thinking the same so we head down to Xing Wang at Kovan for dinner together and did some casual shopping at Heartland Mall after dinner.

Dar dar and I ordered this mui-fan that we always see Chui Ming and Xintian eat which seemed so tasty. I will usually steal a bite from them and it's always so satisfying. But this time, the taste was not satisfying. After a few bites, the taste got a bit 'boring' that we think this would be the last time we ordered that. Maybe it's always nicer to eat off other people's plates than from your own.. Haha.. I will continue to take bites off Chui Ming's plate, tastes better that way... haha..

Anyways, here's a pic of my bro, SIL and the princesses having dinner at Xing Wang. The princesses only had Swly milk! Only Elsie and Chloe get it, the rest dun get it!

Kinda liked the experience of going out with them on this Sunday evening just for dinner and casual walking at a nearby mall. It's refreshing and relaxing! ;p.. Maybe cos it feels family (dar dar and I do such activities together but different feel) and it's been a long time since I do family stuffs on Sundays after all that has happened for the year so far...

A year ago.. they were born.. From then, they started to grow baby teeth, do baby-flips, baby-sits, baby-crawls, baby-stands, baby-steps and baby-talk...

Audea says: "My Mummy and Daddy did not organise a birthday party for me but we kinda celebrated my 1 year old birthday with my grandparents, close uncles and aunties. Friends were not included maybe cos Mummy is pregnant with my younger sister who will come join me in this world sometime in early October (Yes, it's that soon!). Mummy and Daddy wanted to find me a company as soon as possible mah or maybe it's.. heehee.. So I didn't manage to show my Mummy's eager-to-see me gfs how much I have grown! Maybe when my Mummy and her gfs finally meet up, I will smile and let them take a nice pic of me! Till then..

Cherise says: "My Mummy and Daddy held a birthday party for me at Downtown East chalet. They invited a number of close friends and relatives and we had barbequed food and a two-tier cake (1st tier-Lycee Martini & 2nd tier-Orange Zesty Chocolate) from Pine Garden. My cake was lovely and yummy!" I had a lot of fun that day walking around and giggling!

Clarisse Tan

19 September 2007~19 September 2008

Clarisse says: "My Mummy and Daddy held a birthday party for me at my grandparents' house. We ordered buffet and prepared barbequed foods to serve our many uncles, aunties, cousins and neighbours who came to attend my birthday party. My Mummy bought a special cake for me from Ecreations in the shape of the word "ONE" and the cake was nice! I received some birthday presents and I can't wait to open them..hehe...but I'm feeling abit tired now.. *yawn*..

Can you see how much they have grown over the past year, gosh! Good job to the Mummies and Daddies! Must be really hard work but definitely worth it, right?

Dar dar and I were really honoured to be invited to their parties ("Thanks gals!") and we enjoyed it lots! ;) I even had the chance to display my balloon twisting skills and trust me, kids go crazy over balloons! But I was distracted in a way cos I had wanted to interact with Cherise and Clarisse lots so wasn't able to concentrate on twisting the balloons! Whoever wants to learn, feel free to let me know, would be glad to be your teacher! At the party, dar dar was pestered by some kids as they wanted him to pump balloons for them and one of the boys even climbed and sat on his lap! Really mischievious sia!

It's picking up..

For the last few weeks, the level of work on hand was really low that it's a torture sitting in the office. However, my personal activities have somehow increased on weekday nights and the weekends. Maybe it's to make up for my 'lousy' days at work...

Ain't I asking for it.. too much work, complain that it's a lousy day.. not enough work to occupy my working hours, also complain that it's a lousy day.. humans! *roll-eyes*

Been toying with the idea of utilitising my 'entitlement' but just couldn't make up my mind when. Hmm.. when will the auspicious day be leh? But the 'plan' shall be shelved for now till the auspicious day cos FINALLY
, can start work on a job which will help me to occupy my 8 working hours before I go crazy...

Feeling the 'strain' from the packed weekday nights and weekends lately, so time to lay low for a while to 'recuperate'!.. hehe..

Young challenger...

These days it's been raining again.. darn it! Made me wonder if it's the end of the year already?! Luckily, it was good weather today so we went running at the park near our house! Finally!

As we ran, I was impressed with this young boy, about the age of 10-11, who ran side by side with us for quite a while. Then somehow, I think his ego or mischievious trait got the better of him. He was unable to catch up with us at some point but he did not give up (I admired him for that!). He will take big steps so that he can overtake us. After he overtook us, he will slow down and then when we are catching up again, he will take big steps again and then slow down to take his breath again...He did this continously for a while but dar dar and I just continued running at our own pace until we got disgusted and pissed with his behaviour as it became so freaking obvious he wants a challenge!

So towards the end of our last lap, dar dar picked up his pace and ran faster and faster. As expected, the young boy took up the challenge and chased after dar dar! But the gap between dar dar and the young boy just gets wider and wider until the young boy gave up! He changed his target to me but I don't intend to break the momentum in my run, so he realised it was no kick for him and he started to walk, to catch his breath ba!.. haha..

But at his age, I would say he's a good runner and if he continues to run like this, he will be able to excel in running when he grows up. His intermittent sprinting and slowing down would help to build up strength in his running too! So not bad!

Capcity for leave

Typically, my managers will ask if we have capacity for more work? But now, we hardly hear that and it turned out to be that we have capacity for leave wor. In my line of work, it's a torture when you have capacity for work but none is flowing your way and this time charging mechanism is breathing down your neck. *Stress and sianz*.. Couldn't take it anymore so took half day leave today to go klkk with dar dar..yeah! Dar dar took leave too cos he need to clear his leave..

We were thinking where should we go for lunch! Initially, thought of our fav TCC but after he picked me up with junior, we decided to go Red Star Restaurant for dim sum! It's been so long since we last had it..

My fav pu-er tea..

Dar dar's fav egg tarts..

We had wanted to go for our manicure and pedicure sessions today but I had blisters so decided to go another time.

How did the blisters come about? It's all thanks to a pair of new shoes that I bought.. It was so tight (it didn't feel so when I tried it at the shop) so I gave up wearing it properly once I stepped into office. I decided to step on the back of the heel in order to walk.. haha.. now I dunno what to do with the shoe.. it will likely stay inside the shoe cabinet and never get to see daylight or RIP in the rubbish dump soon... sigh.. what a waste of money or maybe I should give it a second chance to "bite" me or I could have tamed it cos I stepped on it the other day.. haha..

Instead, we went Orchard to shop around and we happened to come across some pretty good buys, unexpected spending! Well, it is something that is useful so it's still not so bad. As a result of the purchase, we received a 1-for-1 high tea voucher @ Carousel which dar dar and I decided that we shall take half day leave again one of these days to go mum-mum! Yeah!

Loads of fun swimming complex...

We had an eventful Saturday!

We decided to settle our lunch at K-Box and at the same time sing KTV before we proceed to check out the new swimming complex at Sengkang. Wow! The swimming pool is really cool! There are the usual training and competition pools and the differences between this swimming complex and that of a typical public swimming complex is that there are slides, jacuzzi and the training pool is sheltered. So teaching lessons in this pool will not be disrupted anymore should it rain. They have injected more fun to the kids pool too, with slides and showers! The entry fee is of course abit more expensive than the typical public swimming complex, $2 per adult. Heard it's cheaper compared to that of the Jurong swimming complex. Whatever it is, it is still much cheaper than the Wild wild Wet @ Downtown East. So it's worth going afterall.

Training pool with shelter

I loved the tunnel slides (the purple and orange ones, a bit blocked by the plant)!
It's so fast that you have no time to react when you see light at the end of the tunnel!

Another view of the thrilling slides.. and the jacuzzi..

At the far end of this photo where there is some shelter/seats,
that is where the competition pool is..

This is the kids pool.. I had wanted to play there too but I don't have "passport" and
it would seem like a big kid fighting with the small kids for the slides and showers.. so gave it a miss..

The toilet facilities were good so not to worry. We went home to drop off our swimming gears and zoom out of the house again for afternoon tea before meeting up with my friend & family to go to my boss's condominium for a barbeque. This is the first time he availed his house for the team gathering and all partners and kids are invited. We ordered bbq foods from Ezybbq which I think it's a good choice, one stop service. So convenient and they will deliver everything to your doorstep! Dar dar loved the cheese sausages and I loved my sambal stingray and sotong and the chocobanana!

After chatting and eating, we walked around the condominium to check out the facilities and pools. This condo has got a KTV room, a facility which is seldom provided in condos. Disappointed that I couldn't find the lap pool which I'm interested to check out. But w.t.h., I can't be going to boss's condominium to swim and it's too far and impractical to do so. We helped to cleaned up the bbq pit area and went up to boss's condomimium for coffee/tea. Left his condo about 10pm.

And you think that was the end of my day?! Maybe for my colleagues/friends but not for me and dar dar, we zoomed to meet up with Chuiming and Xintian for late night activities and went to McCafe for a drink before finally ending the day and went home to ZzzZzz..

This is just one of those days where we zong lai zong ki.. but thankfully we have Rio junior for company so it makes things so much more convenient and efficient.. hehe.. Our R&R days can be simple or fully packed with activities at times, it depends on our mood and whether there are ppl to jio us out. Sometimes I'm too happening and pack many activities in a day but who cares.. u only live once and you don't know what will happen tomorrow.. ;p.. So live everyday like you have no tomorrow! ;p
