These thoughts flow back to me every now and then especially when I need my daily teh-siu-dai intake and my adhoc "dosage" of teh tarik, teh halia, pratas etc... Is this a habit of mine or a way of life?

Nova & Uno Beef House

Unable to stand the boredom of sitting around and continue losing interest to do anything at all, the Miss and Mister finally decided to get out of the house to run errands and do some window shopping at Nova. On our way to Nova, the light drizzle turned into a heavy downpour! So we thought window shopping at IMM would be a good choice! The rain became heavier and heavier as we drove and visibility was super compromised. Some cars turned on their hazard lights to warn other vehicles! Then we were thinking why did we choose to be out in the rain instead of in the comforts of our home.. haha.. and driving in such terrible weather conditions wasn't pleasant! When we were approaching IMM, we saw the super duper long queue for the carpark so we took a detour to go for early dinner at Uno Beef House @ Dover, Blk 19. And guess what, we saw another Nova outlet on our way so we went in to klkk. This trip to the west was not so wasted and boring afterall. A "phanthom" was following us all the way through our shopping, really getting on our nerves but we simply ignored him.. Thought I went Nova not Novena (which is well known for such clinging behaviour)... sigh... Our second visit to Uno and the dinner was as good, we ordered something new, chicken cutlet in addition to the must-have tenderloin steak.. (something wrong with indicating the paragraphs, so make it one fat para now.. haha..)

This is special! Mashed potato ball..

Then we met up with cm and xt for drinks but ended up trying curry udon which was not bad. But I think curry don would be nicer. Went barang barang to klkk before going home to watch Xing Guang Bang 4 at 9pm and rest early for the day cos tomorrow will start the same process again.. Aaarrggggghhhhhh...

MJR gathering

The long awaited gathering with the MJRians has happened, today! Thanks to Albert, Christina and Handi for arranging this using facebook.

We arranged dinner at Yum Cha restaurant and through facebook there were supposed to be about 20 persons (11 confirmedx plus 9 maybes). The final turnout was 9 which I think was pretty good still. I enjoyed every moment of it, everyone was comfortable with everyone, chatty and humorous. Updates flying around about each other and those who were unable to make it. We shared updates and those unforgettable memories in MJR. All these do make us sound old but it's okay. we could only have grown older and wiser instead of the other way round like in Benjamin Buttons.

So who came?
Albert
Handi
Christina
Yaocheng
Zhongyi
Mun Fai
Weiquan
Jeslyn.. et..
Moi

Without all of these dear friends who came by for the dinner, this would not have been possible. Really glad to know everyone and the others who could not make it are doing well in life, in one way or another. And also realised that each of us is part of a certain clique and we all seemed like rep from each clique, haha.. this is our first "committee" meeting.. hehe..

Seriously, to make such a gathering happen, we need a venue. A venue that provides flexibility and has a nice environment for all to interact freely and comfortably. Yum Cha is a good place, courtesy of Albert. (Thanks! thanks!) The food was nice and I'm so thinking of going for dim sum breakfast with my dar dar.

This is a gathering after 15 years from the time we graduated. Hope it won't be another 15 years till we meet again. Let's keep this going ppl.. Yum Cha is a good place, it is within walking distance from my office and I can workout before I feast! haha.. but anywhere is fine so long as it can accomodate all of us. Super full from the dinner but luckily I get to walk back to my office which aids in my digestion. Whatever it is, really gotta stop eating so much... stomach cannot take it anymore.. ;).. stomach is bursting and so here I am, blogging instead of sleeping...

7 years itch.. nay..

People say will "itch" after 7-years so they named it the '7-years itch'. I am so reaching my 7 years together with my dar dar and I don't think that will happen in any case.. Time flies.. We had a simple dinner together at Angus House and sat at the same table when we first had our dinner there with our friends (wonder if this year there will still be a same kind of gathering).. hmm...

Ambience and view.. nice..

Complimentary a la carte tenderloin steak (courtesy of ssh, thanks!)

plus an additional grilled chicken (no pic though)...

And finalement, the home-made dessert and tea..

Happy pak-tor anniversary to the Miss and Mister!
Been eating too much lately that I think it's time to tone down and hit the gym more regularly again..

Heureusement je ne suis pas là encore

Peut-être c'est bien et j'espère que je saurai que je veux faire...un jour...

Freaking weather..

I hate the weather these days! I know Singapore is a hot and humid country since my first cry but it just seems to be getting from bad to worse and worst now! Maybe it's global warming or wat so please switch of your lights on the 28 March 2009 from 8.30pm to 9.30pm to vote for earth.. haha..

Apart from the strained neck which could have resulted in my constant headaches lately, I think the freaking weather plays a part in all this too... sigh...Wished I lost my return ticket to Singapore in December last year.. haha..

Wished for more time to fidget and explore with my new mobile phone but somehow didn't get around to doing it yet.. maybe this weekend..

Dar and I are going separate ways

In terms of our handphone..

For him - Nokia 5800

For her.. HTC Touch Cruise

This is the first time we bought and used two different phones, still at the stage of exploring the many applications for the phone but tomorrow is the start of the week already... aaarrrggghhhh... time to switch to work mode.. *yawnZzZZZ*..

Xie Xie Xie Xin Cai

Tried to twist my neck for that fast relief or "shiok" feeling which usually happens after doing that action, but it did not happen. No cracking sound, no relief felt at all. Instead, felt something is not right and over the days, the entire left brain and eye area were strained and tensed up.

Held on for 3 days and hoping for miracle to happen but obviously that's not going to happen, so decided to visit the chiroprator on this 4th day.

Felt instant relief after the visit but the throbbing pain in the brain came back as I stand up from a sitting position, maybe it will take a while. Suppose to visit him again on Tuesday but shall see how it goes. Can't be "cracking" it every now and then, think it's not healthy.

Hope I will recover tomorrow and xie xie Xie Xin Cai, he's my saviour manz!

We did not go for any nature walks over the weekend cos couldn't decide which to go..
Weather was sucky so our exercise regime is compromised (so very often lately, sigh) but lucky, there is still the gym for the Miss..
Ended walking around in the malls which almost killed the Miss and Mister so we hurried home despite the rain to NUA.. perhaps time to start catching some Cantonese shows and English drama series..
Checked out an Italian Restuarant called Buono at 27, Lichfield Road (Serangoon Gardens area) and found the food pretty nice, it cost about S$50 per couple..
Felt a sense of satisfaction over the weekend though cos I managed to settle a few items on my to-do list, yeah!

We seemed to have no ideas/no suggestions on where to go, what to do and what to eat.. gosh! Maybe we think too much so staying in seems like the best option but we still go out for our meals and drinks.. we still need to eat and drink mah.. haha..

Feeling the lack of motivation at work again.. Maybe cos the work is not what I expected or wanted but am happy it is going to pick up soon and I am definitely welcoming the change.. Shall stop complaining on what I am doing also, cos the best way to get around it is to tackle it.. :p

Life is short, play hard dude and dudads... ;)..

HSBC Tree Top Walk

After spending a lazy Sunday morning at home blogging, doing some work and settling some chores, we decided to go for the walk after our lunch when it's finally sunny after a gloomy morning! :)

This trail will bring you through different stages of mature secondary forest and you will reach this free-standing suspension bridge that connects the two highest points (Bukit Peirce and Bukit Kalang) in MacRitchie and offers a bird's eye view of the forest canopy. The total length of the walkway is about 250m and its height from the forest floor varies, with the highest point at 25m. The distance to the entrance of the TreeTop Walk is approximately 4.5 km from the MacRitchie Reservoir Park and 2.5 km from the carpark at Venus Drive. Therefore, a round trip including the TreeTop Walk is about 7 to 10 km.

We started from the Venus Drive and the distance to the entrance is not 2.5km from that point, it's definitely more than that but who cares about the distance. We just kept walking and snapped photos along the way.
We were here!
Pretty?!
The sole gave up on me half way through the walk!
Time for me to get another new pair of sneakers! hehe..

The entire trail was really nice to walk along as we chat. Along the trail, we saw monkeys, chameleons and many butterflies. I am kinda scared of butterflies cos I've heard stories about them but I braved through the entire trail and prayed they don't land on me... haha.. dar dar took video of me as I walked and tried to avoid the butterflies.. hng! *hands on my waist* Well, as we were walking back to our starting point, the weather became gloomy again but lucky us managed to reach our car before it started to rain heavily. It is raining cats and dogs right now as I typed this entry, coupled with thunder and lightning! *sian*

The weather these days is so unpredictable and affecting my outdoor activities on weekends.. sigh.. Mr Ti-Gong, get a life!

IT age

As I walked out of my bedroom to the kitchen to get a drink, I saw dar dar and my bro sitting at the dining table using their laptops and I saw my sil sitting on the sofa using her laptop. I took my drink and went back to my room to continue to use my pc.. 4 adults in the same house using their own laptops/pc and 3 of us online, think we can chit chat through msn also instead of walking over to talk.. haha..

It's really the IT age manz! haha..

I wish to own a laptop of my own at home too but I don't really see the need since my current pc is still serving me well, just need to give it a good "detox" session one of these days.. till then.. ;)

It's been two weeks

It's been two weeks since I last saw my mum, dad, Calz and SY.. for a good reason though. As advised that the medical condition is contagious and need to stay clear of babies, we quarantined Papa Chua and all who stayed with Papa Chua for 2 weeks. Baby Elsie and Baby Chloe are still very young and not-vaccinated. Although Papa Chua insisted my mum to come over, it did not happen. He taught us alot about "万一" and so we have learnt.. in those younger days we will shrug it off but now we do it, it depends on what is more important to you at that point in time. We should be mature enough to do what is best. Prevention is always better than cure, you know..

Papa Chua is 80% recovered, lost some weight says my mum and still felt the pain (excruciating pain he said). I believed it must be tough for him since he is not someone who is very good at "忍耐". But he's already very good cos he 忍ed for a good two weeks so far. The doctor and internet told him that the pain will take longer to recover, perhaps another 2 weeks. Must have been disappointing to hear that. Hang in there, Papa Chua! ;)

So for the past two weeks, me, my bro and sil took turns to look after the baby girls. I really enjoyed the nanny days manz! heehee.. Rocking, bathing, feeding, playing, talking and teaching them little things along the way since they are at the age of observing and absorbing everything they see and hear.. Whoever needs a nanny, you know who to call yeah.. keke.. just kiddin..
