Caught the movie Marley & Me! It's a nice show!

I loved Marley! It is so mischievious and definitely a little terror in the family! But it is so close to our hearts! When it passed on, I cried like a big baby who has lost someone dear.. haha..

The movie shared alot about the transition period for couples who got married, planned to have kids/had kids etc etc.. and everything about the show was oh so true! Minus the big apartment with a pool etc (maybe applicable for the above average families)..

Anyways, watching the show is definitely nothing compared to going through it yourself! But I think they did a good job in portraying the entire process and thoughts of managing the changes in the various stages in life! I can imagine all that and I think most of us will see it coming but just didn't know it'd be more difficult than what you have in mind (either no one told you or no one dared to tell you).. but you will make it alright!

So f&%#$@ furious with this bus driver!

He was driving this super long TIBS bus..
He wanted to cut from the extreme right lane to the extreme left lane (about4-5lanes width)..
He saw cars coming..
He stepped on his accelerator..
An action that disregarded the existing road users and traffic at that time.. wonder what he was thinking?! Like he can make it all the way if he's fast enough or lucky enough?

"Screeaccchhh!" Friction on Baby Rio's shoe was compromised for an abrupt stop to prevent Mummy and Baby Rio from injury! Baby Rio is not alone.. Could not have imagined the impact!
If I could have seen the driver, I would have given him my powerful and fierce stareeeeeEEE! Sigh..

(A) Maybe they should consider relocating the bus-stop from the right to the left, why "test" the driver like that, it's ridiculous!
(B) Maybe they should change the driver!
(C) Maybe I should avoid those lanes or drive warily just in case I am so "lucky"to bump into such reckless drivers!

FRIED Thai CHILLI Salmon
When you go singing at KBox, most of the time you will see a Sushi eatery next to it, be it Suki Sushi or Nihon Mura Sushi. Then when you go for the K-Lunch package and this is what you get for your K-Lunches, what would you be thinking? Yes, the taste gave itself away. Please prepare it fresh, people!

Starting to realise..

I heard a lot about office politics lately and am starting to understand what this is all about. In short, it’s about playing mind games (pardon my ignorance and innocence that I only knew it now).

I heard about this Ah Meng who knows how to say the right things to please whoever just to get its way or even to get into someone’s good books AT ALL COSTS. This Ah Meng will do it even if it means back-stabbing someone to make that person look bad and god knows what else he will do or say.

I seriously cannot understand why some people will allow themselves to change to such an extent. I can imagine them finding excuses that they need to do this in order to survive in an organization, in the business world blah blah.. Fine, if that’s what they think.. Maybe true but I'm fortunate that I'm not caught in such a situation at the moment.. But I do hope these ppl dun use the “skills” they have acquired in office on their loved ones. But when you do this so very often, one has to be very consious of it in order to not let this behaviour set in him/her. But I have seen and I think that this will somehow become 2nd nature to that person until the person either doesn’t know it or cannot control their mind from wanting to seek enjoyment from being able to manipulate someone from their actions and speech. There is probably a thin line between understanding that someone or simply wanting to manipulate that someone. It’s sad when people have to resort to such means.

By saying all that, I’m allowing myself to be susceptible to someone who needs a target. But I refused to be involved in such silly conflicts which only hurts people along the way so please leave me alone. I guess all these thoughts came about after hearing a lot of such politics from my significant other and hearing too much of it makes me detest those persons and feel so disgusted! *ewe*

Hate the weather!

Oh gosh! Can't stand the weather these days~ been so darn hot, humid and hazy.. *akh-akh-akh*... The weather can be scorching hot yet windy at the same time and suddenly it's just plain hot and humid!

When I returned home lately, I see what weather has done to Mother Nature! My carpark was filled with fallen leaves. Then as days passed, I observed that two of the many trees in the carpark were shedding its leaves so fast that it became "botak" in a few days. I wonder why only these two? Maybe it's because of the dry and hot weather, maybe it’s the polluted air, maybe it's because it is already lacking in certain nutrients or maybe it’s time for it to shed all its leaves.

I'd think of it as due to the bad weather conditions these days and these two trees are weak in its “greenery health”, since many other trees are still growing well. This analogy is perfect to describe human beings as well. If you are not as healthy, you will tend to succumb to virus attacks when certain conditions change. The weakest link will be hit first! So do drink more water, take more fruits, exercise more frequently and maybe taking some herbal drinks as the folks would recommend may help.

Anyways, hope someone will save the two trees soon or am I allowed to buy fertilizers and water the trees so that it will be able to snap out of its poor state...

Glen Ong and Jamie Yeo call it quits!

So this was the announcement that Glen wanted to announce over Morning Express that morning. Really shocked by the news that they have decided to call it quits.

I had the impression that they are a lovey dovey couple and are good together till this day. Read that they called it quits due to their careers and individual differences. Hmm, careers I can understand but individual differences happen in every single couple, am I not right? I have my own set of differences with my significant other also which I am also trying my best to reconcile.. Maybe it became too difficult for them to reconcile. Anyways, good to know that they ended the relationship in a mature manner.

Being a faithful listener of Class 95 Morning Express, felt sad for Glen but am glad to hear that he is taking it well!.. :).. Glen, we love ya! hee..

The Southern Ridges

The Southern Ridges comprise a 9-kilometre chain of green, open spaces spanning the rolling hills of Mount Faber Park, Telok Blangah Hill Park and Kent Ridge Park. There are a number of interesting trails that completes this 9km trail. We started with the Marang Trail and continued to Faber Walk, Henderson Waves, Hilltop Walk, Forest Walk, Alexandra Arch, Flora Walk and Hortpark and ended with the Canopy Walk.

Starting of the trail.. we walked up flights of steps before reaching Mount Faber..

"Henderson waves", Singapore's highest pedestrian bridge which spans Henderson Road to connect Mount Faber Park to to Telok Blangah Hill Park.

Felt that it was nice and refreshing walking through the different trails on a Sunday morning. Will check out the other walking trails in Singapore overtime..

Healthy steamboat..

Was introduced to this healthy steamboat called "The Mushroom Pot" and tried it last night with friends. We chose wild mushroom herbal soup base and a 4 pax set. You can order from the ala carte menu as well and they will serve it to your table. Cost wise, not cheap but I enjoyed it lots cos I'm a person who likes steamboat and soups. Not just any soup, but nice & healthy soups! They also call it 长生锅.. looks like I will live longer after having it.. keke.. like real..

This mushroom snack tastes nice

Nice & healthy soup base.. I like it..

If you are looking for healthier choices and love mushrooms, this is the place! Did you know that there's a lot of healthy goodnes in mushrooms? Mushrooms contain high levels of nutrients such as proteins, vitamins and minerals and contain substances believed to perform a host of medicinal functions such as increase immunity, reduce cholesterol, improve digestion, promote blood circulation and reduce fatigue. If I have the time, I will find out what are the vitamins and minerals the various species of mushrooms contain.. hehe..

Ooh yeah.. not forgetting, yesterday was a G-shock day for us! Hee..;p..

Shingles

Finally knew what this is about and not be misled by this commonly known chinese medical term called "snake" which is capable of killing the person. I was brought up to know that the treatment to cure this condition is to get someone to catch the "snake" using some unorthodox method to kill and stop the "snake". I know how absurd this sounds but since I had no idea what this method was about, I just go with the flow and finally saw how they do it.

Last Thursday night, we accompanied papa Chua to this HDB flat to visit the person who knows how to catch the "snake". We were welcomed by an old couple. The couple took a look at the rashes and identified the condition as "snake". They went to get their 'tools', a bowl with oil and wicks dipped in it, a burning candle and a special ointment in a vicks-like container. The ah peh told me to apply the ointment on the spots where he is going to burn. But I was a bit afraid of what I will be in for so I asked dar dar to help me do that. So the treatment began and in 5mins or so, the treatment was completed. Although the ah peh did not explain what the ointment was for, I gathered that it should be to relieve the pain where the skin came in contact with the flame. Silly and selfish me! I must give my dar dar credit for doing it even though he didn't know the purpose of applying that ointment and that was not his dad but mine. Papa Chua was then instructed by the ah peh to apply some type of powder boiled with rice wine, avoid those "poisonous" foods, cannot shower and cannot face the mirror for 4 days.

Well, papa Chua said he felt better after the treatment but for the last few days till today, he had fever and the rashes developed to blisters and the rashes was giving him a lot of pain. Wondered if it's because he didn't follow the ah peh's instructions and went to bathe. No one knows. He just went to the hospital to have his condition checked out and it was confirmed that he had Shingles and asked to rest for a number of days. Wonder what medicine etc did the doctor gave him. Hope he will get fast-relief cos his dictionary does not have the word "忍". As hard as I know it will be for him, there is no miracle in this world so we do need to give it time to recover, don't we? Hope he recovers soon..

Anyway, so what is Shingles? It is a viral disease characterized by a painful skin rash with blisters in a limited area on one side of the body, often in a stripe. Its progression, a cluster of small bumps, then turns into blisters. The blisters will break open, crust over and finally disappear. The pain should then slowly go away over time. It's a condition caused by the same virus that caused chicken pox and it has to do with the immune system of every individual.

An interesting virus to know and the way the folks put it forth to the kids, leading the kids to believe that there is really something like the "snake" in the body.. *shudders*..

The curious case of Benjamin Buttons

Just came back from watching this brilliant movie, I recommend all of you to catch it!

A love where age, looks and abilities can never hinder. It is depressing cos you cannot stop time, no matter how much you wished you could.

I was so full of emotions after watching this movie and tried so hard to contain my tears.
