A lazy weekend
The weather was so hot and humid that we were hoping that there was a pool nearby which we could jump right in for a swim/body-dip! We considered my friend's condo but gave up that idea cos we were in a lazy mode somehow.
So in the end, we decided to pop by our fav TCC @ Boat Quay to rest and relaz since we were around the area. We've been there a few times and we liked the place lots cos of its cool and cosy environment.
We found a nice & cool spot within the place, at the 2nd level and lazed on the available bean bags. We slowly ordered our drinks, starters and our fav seafood Aglio Olio since it's like 4plus and dinner wun be too far away from then.
His promegranate orange dunno wat, my lychee jazz.. both tastes good..
Cheesy Prawn toast..
Seafood Aglio Olio (We feel that the portion is smaller and more pricey than before though my other frens think otherwise. Hmm, maybe next time will ask their management to confirm our suspicion.. haha.. )
Look at the cosy environment! The lights u see are just the spot lights shining on the paintings not the sun! It's really the perfect place to spend a lazy afternoon away from the hot and humid outdoors.. The finale for the meal! We ordered this Devil-misu to try as the waitress recommended it to us. The taste was very full and stronger then the normal Tiramisu but it's good. Those who like Tiramisu should try this!So we spent hours sitting there till the sun goes down, chit-chatting while we slowly enjoy our drinks before the time is just nice for us to go home to watch the qualifying rounds for Formula 1.
Capcity for leave
Typically, my managers will ask if we have capacity for more work? But now, we hardly hear that and it turned out to be that we have capacity for leave wor. In my line of work, it's a torture when you have capacity for work but none is flowing your way and this time charging mechanism is breathing down your neck. *Stress and sianz*.. Couldn't take it anymore so took half day leave today to go klkk with dar dar..yeah! Dar dar took leave too cos he need to clear his leave..
We were thinking where should we go for lunch! Initially, thought of our fav TCC but after he picked me up with junior, we decided to go Red Star Restaurant for dim sum! It's been so long since we last had it..
My fav pu-er tea..
Dar dar's fav egg tarts..
We had wanted to go for our manicure and pedicure sessions today but I had blisters so decided to go another time.
How did the blisters come about? It's all thanks to a pair of new shoes that I bought.. It was so tight (it didn't feel so when I tried it at the shop) so I gave up wearing it properly once I stepped into office. I decided to step on the back of the heel in order to walk.. haha.. now I dunno what to do with the shoe.. it will likely stay inside the shoe cabinet and never get to see daylight or RIP in the rubbish dump soon... sigh.. what a waste of money or maybe I should give it a second chance to "bite" me or I could have tamed it cos I stepped on it the other day.. haha..
Instead, we went Orchard to shop around and we happened to come across some pretty good buys, unexpected spending! Well, it is something that is useful so it's still not so bad. As a result of the purchase, we received a 1-for-1 high tea voucher @ Carousel which dar dar and I decided that we shall take half day leave again one of these days to go mum-mum! Yeah!
Loads of fun swimming complex...
We had an eventful Saturday!
We decided to settle our lunch at K-Box and at the same time sing KTV before we proceed to check out the new swimming complex at Sengkang. Wow! The swimming pool is really cool! There are the usual training and competition pools and the differences between this swimming complex and that of a typical public swimming complex is that there are slides, jacuzzi and the training pool is sheltered. So teaching lessons in this pool will not be disrupted anymore should it rain. They have injected more fun to the kids pool too, with slides and showers! The entry fee is of course abit more expensive than the typical public swimming complex, $2 per adult. Heard it's cheaper compared to that of the Jurong swimming complex. Whatever it is, it is still much cheaper than the Wild wild Wet @ Downtown East. So it's worth going afterall.
Training pool with shelter
I loved the tunnel slides (the purple and orange ones, a bit blocked by the plant)!
It's so fast that you have no time to react when you see light at the end of the tunnel!
Another view of the thrilling slides.. and the jacuzzi..
At the far end of this photo where there is some shelter/seats,
that is where the competition pool is..
This is the kids pool.. I had wanted to play there too but I don't have "passport" and
it would seem like a big kid fighting with the small kids for the slides and showers.. so gave it a miss..
The toilet facilities were good so not to worry. We went home to drop off our swimming gears and zoom out of the house again for afternoon tea before meeting up with my friend & family to go to my boss's condominium for a barbeque. This is the first time he availed his house for the team gathering and all partners and kids are invited. We ordered bbq foods from Ezybbq which I think it's a good choice, one stop service. So convenient and they will deliver everything to your doorstep! Dar dar loved the cheese sausages and I loved my sambal stingray and sotong and the chocobanana! After chatting and eating, we walked around the condominium to check out the facilities and pools. This condo has got a KTV room, a facility which is seldom provided in condos. Disappointed that I couldn't find the lap pool which I'm interested to check out. But w.t.h., I can't be going to boss's condominium to swim and it's too far and impractical to do so. We helped to cleaned up the bbq pit area and went up to boss's condomimium for coffee/tea. Left his condo about 10pm. And you think that was the end of my day?! Maybe for my colleagues/friends but not for me and dar dar, we zoomed to meet up with Chuiming and Xintian for late night activities and went to McCafe for a drink before finally ending the day and went home to ZzzZzz.. This is just one of those days where we zong lai zong ki.. but thankfully we have Rio junior for company so it makes things so much more convenient and efficient.. hehe.. Our R&R days can be simple or fully packed with activities at times, it depends on our mood and whether there are ppl to jio us out. Sometimes I'm too happening and pack many activities in a day but who cares.. u only live once and you don't know what will happen tomorrow.. ;p.. So live everyday like you have no tomorrow! ;p
