It's baking time and time for me to play host again.. yeah.. Finally hosted this bunch of my ex-colleagues over at my place for dinner. A few of them came over earlier to do some baking and we made a lemon tofu cheescake, a mango cheese cake and apple crumble. All done within 4 hours.
While the cakes and crumble are baking in the hot oven/chilling in the fridge, dar dar and I were preparing my so called "man han quan xi"... haha... Nay, we simply had a chinese dinner this time round and here's the menu...
Emperor Herbal Chicken
Broccoli with carrot and prawns
Potato with Luncheon meat in tomato sauce
Fried spicy chicken drumlets
Carrot, potato and corn soup
Fried chicken wings from Ikea - courtesy of Eddie and Yvonne
Japanese agar-agar, fried otah cakes and fish balls - courtesy of Seok Hong
(Looking at the spread and with 8 adults and 2 toddlers, we still couldn't finish all the food. So I packed and brought the leftovers to my mum's for lunch on Sunday.)
Well, we had the cakes and crumbles for desserts but it's not chilled long enough. They tasted better the next day... I like the mango cheesecake best and I'm so going to make the apple crumble again cos I wanna make it as good as the first time I tried it...
I had fun baking, cooking and cleaning up for that day... And I am so happy to take a photo with Cadee. Sadly Janelle couldn't join us.. Cadee was abit cranky and cried a few times, unfamiliar faces and environment I guess, but a cutie pie no matter what! Hope to see and play with her again.. ;p..
Alright, maybe I shall host my family, my close friends and my new colleagues over for meals again and again.. I'm itching to cook and bake... haha..

Hi5Always enjoyed the precious moments with my lovely nieces and simply love observing their interesting behaviours, teaching them new things and watching them learn...
Went to watch Hi5 with my bro and SIL together with the girls.. it's pretty fun but long queue manz.. you have to queue 1hr in advance to get a seat in the compound right in front of the stage and to earn a chance to take photos with the Hi5..
Parents these days really went all out to do anything for their kiddos.. I take my hat off them.. ;p..
We spent a good 8 hours or so in taka to catch the show, to shop around and to have dinner together... the carpark charges was "amazing" too! ... haha...

回味碧山公园..Since the park was so near and we had some time, we went for a quick run at the park before the dinner with his folks. It's been a long time since he ran there and for me, even longer.. but it's nice running at a different park once in a while..
As we ran, we recalled that this was one of the place where we popped by during our paktor days. All in all, we went to the park together for 3 times.. the very 1st time, we were not together yet.. and there was once we bumped into his buddy and gf at the park too.. haha.. so coincidental.. I like the park cos there are swings for me to play..
Luckily, I ran fast enough so that we had some time to play on the swings before heading back for dinner.. yeah! ^,^

You are so-so only, if not worse..A few upsetting things today..
Didn't do well in class yesterday, the small test on pronouns was a disaster.. Supposed to prepare for it but it totally slipped my mind.. sigh.. and I procrastinated on completing this draft DELF B1 paper that I wanted to complete so that I can pass to Manu King to mark.. weeks has passed..
Didn't give full attention to someone dear.. why am I always so?!.. There is no way to avoid such an accusation.. sigh..
Did not act on something fast enough... and irritated my SO..
What a F _ I _ _ R _?! sigh...
RSMCL D&DLeft office early for drinks and snacks @ TCC Greatworld City. We started with reading Business Times then we realised it's kinda silly and sad to do that so we started talking nonsense..haha..not really so, we chit chatted about history, BGR, Co-ed vs girls school, retirement, etc.. and it helped me to take my mind off my work and relazZz for a while before heading to Furama Riverfront for our D&D. The theme was "Back to Basics" so we wore our favourite jeans and that's it.. But a colleague of mine fly my "aeroplane".. haha.. she wore dress.. hmm.. dun care..
The D&D was different and pretty "localised" as compared to the ones I attended for the past 4 years or so. For a moment, I thought I was at a wedding dinner (many yum-seng sessions and photo-taking at tables).. I started to look for the bride and groom but didn't spot any...hmm.. heehee.. The crowd was fun and everyone was friendly and so at ease with everyone, anyone..
The entire D&D has many different aspects but nice feel.. One wonderful thing is if you stay long enough, you will get a Rolex watch.. hmm.. impressive but based on my past "trend", I don't reckon that will happen to me..
Dinner ended and we went home first before heading for a second session of drinks with my friends till late..

We can visualise and imagine..
We had the dinner that we had always wanted to try to see whether it will work for us and this is the dinner.. a simple zi-char dinner for two at Blk 644 coffee shop...

Hotplate toufu (tie-ban-dou-fu) [For us]
Prawn & meat balls (hae-zo) [For him]
Salty vegetable soup (xian-cai-tang) [For her]
2 plates of rice
Leftover - a plate of rice
Price : S$21
We agreed that we have over-ordered as we felt very full from the dinner. Well, at least we know that we should order lesser next time we do such a dinner.
We can simply visualise and imagine ourselves walking out to the coffeeshop to have such dinners when we are older and old, especially when we have no dependents so it's just me and him.. free and easy.. Our friends/siblings would likely be married and occupied with their own lives/kids. So if we maintain an average level of affluence, such dinners should be within our means. Alternatively, we think sharing a packet of horfun, hokkien mee, ee-mee or fried rice with egg etc. would serve our stomachs well too!
We hope that we will remain active and are fit enough to do our runs/swims (shorter distance) after work and before dinner or maybe early in the mornings since older peeps tend to wake up earlier.. And after dinner, we can continue to hold hands and stroll in the parks to aid digestion.. heehee.. nice thoughts..
Hmm... maybe we can try to work out our retirement funds on such basis.. haha.. especially when we have no dependents
(to expect support, to add on to their burden by living off them or to piss them off by expecting to live off them.. haha...or maybe not).. With or without dependents, everyone must plan for themselves and be as independent as possible.. not?..

My balance..Recently, been really caught up with work that killed all my mood for anything.. not healthy at all so I was determined to find the balance that works for me..and yes, it's found..
Wakey-Wakey~exercise(try to)~Bfast~Start work~Break for lunch~Get back to work~Knock off (pack some work back)~Break for exercise (a must do if morning exercise didn't happen/dinner with my SO, family or friends~Work(try to)~Sleep (at least 7-8hours rest)..
Work wise, time management is crucial! The plan~Admin time in the morning and before knocking off~Check voicemails/return calls 2 times a day~Strike items off my daily To-do lists.. In between, of course to do work proper..
Work is neverending so everyone should try to find the balance that suits the lifestyle you want.. easier said than done but no one can't do it!
"Work out that balance and BE DETERMINED TO STICK BY IT otherwise you will lose your balance!"
